MONKEY RPG is what we have and a few others campained for for a while now as most oriental games are too serious and would like one based on the series and also the lighter side of hong kong cinema.hope that answers your question

It was a TV Series that was shown all over the world, but apparently not in the US, based on the chinese tales that make up the Journey to the West (itself a humourous book). Essentially a mix of martial arts and comedy, the programme was quite popular, running to 50 episodes in Japan.

Even better is that the English version was translated by a non Japanese speaker, who was obviously very familar with the book. The result created a very sureal cult series, that is quite unique.

Essentially 3 exiled gods and a dragon, masqurading as a talking horse, attempting to return to heaven by escort the illuminated tripitaka to india to deliver the buddhist vehicles... One is Monkey! the irrepresable warrior without equal, Sage equal to heaven, theres the vice obessed Pigsy, the sea monster man eating Sandy and of course the incredibly virtuous Tripitaka (a man played by a woman), who rules over them. It contains just about every in party squabble ever...

Classic.

Are there any links to this Paragon of Comedic Virtue?

Also,
Shalazar, There are a lot of things that have not hit the shores of our wide nation that's managed to land everywhere else. I know you probably meant that as a tongue in cheek kinda manner but it chaps my hide whenever I hear a fellow American sound as if it must not have been to important just because it was not released here.

As I said, I'm probably blowing this outa proportion.
I actually feel left out a lot of times living here in the U.S., we seem to miss a LOT of stuff that the rest of the world sees......

Yep... it was tongue and cheek....... BUT! now that you mention it, it couldn't be all that important if it never made it here!

Shalazar

Hey, ya know they have ointments for that chaffing!

But that doesn't mean it wasn't great, just that Americans didn't get it... Like World Cinema :P :P

In the worlds before Monkey Post, Primal Serious reigned. Mongoose sought order. But Toothill Men can fly only when their feathers are grown.

The early users posted again and yet again, as endless idea posts wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of mentalist forces, the moisture of their madness, the powers of Wuxia, Toothill and the Hassan worked upon a certain post, old as the board. And it became stupidly ferbrile. That first post was named Toothill's "Thought".

Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said "With our thoughts we make the post". Somewhat mental forces caused the post to grow. From it came like a great monkey idea. The nature of Monkey was irrepressible.'

MONKEY!
