Mongoose needs to get on with jump gates

Mongoose
So I was thinking the other day what could be made to add some look and feel to the table top. The answer was as easy as any. Why doesn't Mongoose make a jump gate figure? Sure it’s big and does not do anything but add a great feel to the game and some great objective to fight over. They wouldn’t have to make it in full scale but I think it would be great to make. I would buy at least one. I think you would be a fool if you didn't. The figure itself would not be hard for them to produce or even pay the sculptor to create as its just 3 identical pieces. If anyone says it would be too hard to model I would laugh at you that is part of the hobby. So the way I see it is why NOT make a jump gate. I think we should show them that it would be a worth while endeavor, and as such one to do in the near future. What do you say?

If I remember correctly in the B5 series didn't they sometimes have to expand the inner area of the jump point near the station to get some ships through safely?? so if i do remember correctly it wouldn't be that big a model compared to some of the models

Yes, they do. The mini should have moveable struts :D
Also some gates have 3 struts, some have 4. One should be removable.

all the biggest ships have their own jump engines anyway, but they got the Vorlon key to thirdpsapce through a gate, so shouldn;t be a size issue.
What I would rather see is the Stations for the not EA races, and maybe even the sattelites, but I would prioritise the station. It pains me that so many fleets are scheduled for release next year, and we don't even have what we need for current fleets!!

Mmmm. . .

Well, we have a lot of new miniatures coming out for CTA next year - and I don't believe we will have time to do a comprehensive range of stations (and orbital satellites, etc) in that time. No point rushing them.

However, I have half an idea at the moment to do something _very_ special with space stations in 2008. So, it may just be worth the wait. . .

Was just about to hit Submit, then I figured some people may find this disagreeable. Allow me to distract you with thoughts of alien transport ships, Gaim, pak'ma'ra, Psi Corps Motherships, Technomage Pinnaces, Hurr Gunships, Myrmidon LCVs. . .

Nice! Gaim, Pak, Psi Corp & Technomages! Looks like you took the poll from a while ago and just said "lets do everything!" :D

But who are the Hurr & isn't a LCV a Light Combat Vehicle, is that in ACTA or SST?

hmm, a tad dissapointed, would rather have seen the completion of existing fleets instead of more fleets, but I suppose you gotta make what the money demands :-(

how many people use space stations though? for the occasional times you see one i would use either a scratchbuilt job or one of the counters.

Well the Narn one is just a few T'Loth wings stuck together round a bit in the middle...

And the Centauri one just needs a rubix cube stood on its corner...

What makes you think they are not a priority too :)

Seriously, if we do everything we are currently planning (not 100% guaranteed at the moment), then you are looking at about 60 new ships next year. . .

Actually, we have done a bit more than that - all will be revealed in the next S&P, on Friday. . .

Will we be seeing Fleet Action scale return? *wishing*

Yeah, I know...but I still have to ask....

I am afraid there are some things that just ain't going to happen :)

Well thats great. All the new stuff and fluff!!! Keep it comming. The range of ships is very respectable and becomming daunting. GREAT!!
