Has anyone tried a modern spin on rq2 yet? I'm curious about skills, weapons & armor. I'd wonder how magic might have evolved too, although sorcery might be much more interesting.
Magic would not be my priority and would handle it (if at all) with the same rules as in fantasy.
I would try and keep the skill list as compact as possible, only adding those skills that are absolutely needed (maybe setting specific).
For firearms I would probably take a look at BRP for range, damage and RoF. I would still add a sort of penetration value for the weapons (especially for firearms). Armor would be rated more like a shield mechanically and this would be compared to penetration value of the gun. This would show how well the shot penetrated the armor if at all. I don't know if DR would be needed then, at all.
I have not paid any thought about Combat Actions using firearms but some additional ones (like using automatic fire) would be needed.
