Lorcan - seems a company called ACE does a Scimitar in 1/72, and those RH Models guys have kits from other companies for most of the units I want.
Seems all the limitations I found with 28mm figures are gone with 20mm ones, and they're cheaper... 8)

I was tempted to get the three-pack of Revell Warrior kits for £15 from RH/Revelelation minis, but I found two for substantially less on eBay, and between them and my MGP Warriors I've enough to mechanise a full platoon and then some.

Sounds good to me. I thought you were under the impression there was no Scimitar in 1/72, that's all...

I'd forgotten about it to be honest, but I did know if its' existence. From what I hear the Ace models do require some filling and filing down to be presentable though.

Me again. Anyone know where Russian vehicles in 1/72 can be had? Specifically the BMP-3 and BTR-T?

the abovementioned ACE models do a large line of Russian vehicles, they're probably your best bet.

I searched ACE and they have neither the BMP-3 or the BTR-T.
This is a pain. While my planned British force looks easy, I'll need an OpFor to do demo games. I wanted the Russian Federal Army for that role but models don't look easy to get. Even the mighty RH guys don't seem to have modern Russian infantry with underslung grenade launchers. That makes putting a basic infantry squad together quite difficult.
Much the same goes for the German Heer. They'd be a decent choice for demo games, even though we're never likely to fight them, people might actually want to play them, but there's a shortage of models for them. Infantry can be had but no AG36s, and vehicles seem scarce too.

Then comes the painting but with quickshade army painter dip that's fast process(me fallen love with that stuff!).

BMP-3 I think S&S may do. Otherwise use a BMP-2 from Liberation, S&S or ACE. Are you really going to be playing against someone who can tell the difference? Or just call it a BMP-2; they are still more common than BMP-3s anyway.
BTR-T- not currently available but buy a Cromwell Models BMP-T- very, very similar in looks and capabilities.
Scimitar- Britannia make a very good resin one as do Cromwell and I think S&S.

we have been asked by a customer in spain to look into doing the btr t, and as we have the t55 hull and tracks done, it would not take too long in getting the upper hull done, how many are interested and how many would you buy?

For the BTR-T in 1/72? At least three, maybe more. Depends how many Russian infantry grunts I got to feed to my British Army, basically. Would you be able to do the BMP-3 as well?
