Saw a report on the Mil Channel,

A group of Seals went in to destroy the personal Gunboat in Nicaragua, of Noriega.

They had to snak across open water, dive under and cut through netting, then place charges, 2 sets with 2 dets each.

A simple mission for seals, til Mr. Murphy came in on a jet ski.

Mission was to be at 12:00 am (I think that was the time)

Just at Launch General calls wanting to go 30 min early, all timers are set and team is entering water, Leader says no way, is told main attack will start at 11:45 then hurry.

On the way over, they are using 2 zodaics, engine craps out in one.

By the time all is in the water, running a bit late, 11:40am attack starts, boat crew starts lobbing gernades.

All in All a classic SNAFU.

Two SEALs lost both Eardrums, from gernades.

All made it out.

Yeah, Mr. Murphy showed up at the airport for the SEALS as well. As good as those guys are, a platoon with small arms is pretty much just that...

Well usually the special forces, when given free run how to accomplish their mission, do decently well.

That airport mission was a example of why politicians should never be allowed to command actual missions. The absolutely stupid way they used the SEALs, and the restrictions put on them is almost as bad as the they the politicians handled bombing campaigns in Vietnam.
