I use just minis (except for the bazillion fighters I need to base and paint) cause' the minis are so darn cool looking. The really make the game in my opinion.

;)

I use almost all minis. Really the only counters I use are for fighters. My primary fleet is Minbari and my LGS can never seem to stock Nials....Also, they are a bit steep. With the exception of Starfuries with the Posiedon, a large number of fighters becomes prohibitive. With the way that my fleet is generally set up, I am down something like 16 flights of fighters (for all my ships), and I can get quite a bit for the 50 bucks it would take me to get those.

I mainly use counters, but thats due to the moulds of the Minbari fleet I bought from Mongoose being utter rubbish and I have just not had the enthusiasm to face fixing them to a state where they can be painted.

Though I'll probably pick up some of the Drakh when they come out.

In the meantime counters are just fine (unless your trying to read the ship name from a distance).

I can sympathize with LBH, when I reached the point with GW minis that I had 12 floor to ceiling racks of storage bins loaded with sorted figures, unassembled and of course not painted. We weighed them when I held what was locally known as the "Great Giveaway". There were four five gallon buckets full given away first come first served. each bucket weighed in at or in excess of one hundred pounds of unsorted miniatures and bits.

Made some local gamers quite happy. As an Outrider I had many boxed sets of things 6 Space Hulk, 5 40K 2nd Ed. and 3rd Ed., 6 Epic 40K third Ed. etc. plus an 8 foot wide by 10 foot long by 8 feet tall storage unit literally crammed full of boxed miniatures sets and various GW games.

I now try to limit myself closer to what I can actually assemble and paint.
(Yeah right) Hee, hee

I know that feeling but when i went into the Salisbury store after I Transitioned (AND THEY KNEW) I was treated with rude words and indignation and Terry from the Bath store was kind to me as I went in to get bases for my ships (He came to one of our game nights) and he has defended me if Anyone is nasty to me.

And I go in from time to time to stock up on bases and undercoat.
