Miniatures for BFE on the cheap...

BuShips

Cosmic Mongoose
I've already got my entire collection for BFE already, and in all the various force options too. They're all invisible! The bad thing is, since no one can see the enemy it's going to be hard to use the dice  . I speak of an article yesterday that says a cloaking device is being proved possible to hide infantry, tanks, aircraft and ships. And they're hiding their shadows too. Oh, sorry about teasing you but it did get you to look here didn't it? Mousetraps do work, I suppose . Here is a link to the article. Harry Potter and the Romulans are not impressed though- "Been there, done that."

Well now, I'm no sience freak but if they managed to cloak a cylinder then all good and well, we'll see how it goes anyway, won't we?

It also said that some of the light would bounce back and that a human eye can detect that. So what does that mean? It will look like a walking shadow or what?

All in all I'm sceptic to it, as always. Sure could be cool though.

Well, I'm much more apt to believe this stuff now, since I've been selling nanotech in my computers for three years now and have had nano-treated pants (!) for as long as I've been selling nano-products  . This looks like it's a ways off I suspect, so we probably won't see it as a component in BFE. Maybe that's a good thing, too. I'd rather look at my miniatures, even if the other side gets to shoot at them now and then  .

Well, if anyone ever saw the limited edition "Invisible Frodo" model GW made... it was moulded from transparent plastic :)

(I had my own previous to that, consisting of a sand base which I'd pushed the feet of a Frodo model into to make two footprints)

Best one I ever saw was the first one I ever saw! A few years ago Ainsty produced Predator-style aliens in clear plastic for 28mm scale, marketing them as stealthed predators. Very nice models. Great detail, just couldn't see much of it 'cos they were clear. Friend of mine used a very watered down green ink wash, which just showed enough detail without ruining the effect. Did I say they were nice models? 8)

I saw this 2 weeks ago on "Discoveries this Week" its on national geographic channel :P , but it is currently only capable of hiding itself from gamma rays(or something else not in the visible spectrum)

Anywho, I don't want to sound to nerdy
