Hi guys,

A quick question for you.

Have you ever seen a ship do something in the TV series that you could not replicate on the table in CTA? We have a 'ships do funky things' chapter in the forthcoming Powers & Principalities, so if there is something you would liek to see, shout out!

Don't worry about going into game stats - just let us know what you would like to see. . .

Easier for ships to ram - it takes place on several occassion IIRC :)

Something to allow the Shadows to attack B5 directly with Shadow soliders as they do this in the 2 parter with the alt future.

perhaps the ability for the Shadows to both enter from and return to hyperspace as that is their standard tactic but cant replicate now - however this is likely to have balance issues?

problem is many of the fleets just don't appear on screen...............

Sliding and and a Special Action for pivoting while firing would be great.
Whitestars use them on several ocassions.

I especially remember the part where the WS slide along the side of a Shadow Omega while firing full guns at it.

Or something to increase the primary weapons energy.

ISA fluff says White Stars enter and leave hyperspace multiple times in the same engagement, one opening a JP while the other's engine recharges. 3rd paragraph.

Agile Trait

Ships with the Agile trait may use 2 45 degree turns or a single 90 degree turn to fly sideways during the turn allowing them to fire a raking shot at other ships.

A few ideas for the pot.

1) Hyperspace combat - Can't remember if it's even seen but I'd like it to be an option.

2) Opening a jump point inside another - almost suicide but an alternative to ramming in the right circumstances?

3) Mining asteroids.

4) Shadow ship killing fighters

As I recall General Lefcourt said it always turn into disasters. But I think the whitestar(s) have been in hyperspace combat several times.

Umm, you can do that now?

2. Now this one I actually quite like. . .

3. For what purpose during a battle?

Bore sight on ships that don't always get seen using boresight
I.e G'Quan vs Primus in B5 space

I like the side slide idea for agile ships

fighters taking so long to launch from EA ships
why do we need to have fighters still in their hangers?

You can currently do it once, yes. I'd hardly call that "wave after wave" as the fluff says! It infers to me that the tactic involves the same ships going in and out of hypespace to make it seem like there's loads of White Stars, when in actuality there is only 3 or 4.

I suspect mollari_uk means proximity or remote mines, not mining resources.

I don't really see the point of side slide. All firing is done after all movement, and if you're agile, you can pretty much put your ship where you like anyway. What positioning would side slide allow that is currently impossible?

Shadows def phase in and phase out if its going badly - whihc def can't do now

3) Mining asteroids.

Minelayers generally, in fact. People often comment that the Abbai suffer from a combination of slow ships and short reach, so they can't control the flow of an engagement.

Mines are supposed to be something of an Abbai speciality (I like the Dilgar War novel and that shows some pleasantly dirty tricks pulled with minefields) - at the moment, other than energy mines (which aren't mines in the strict sense of the word, really, are they?), only babylon 5 allows you to actually deploy a minefield. Unless you wish to play an entire game in a minefield, of course.....

The rules needn't be that complex, and B5's mine launchers cover it pretty well.

Centauri blockade mines spring to mind, as well - just basically a floating ion cannon turret, as far as one saw; not enough to qualify a an orbital defences platform, but deployed in swarms.

allowing ships in an out of hyperspace would have serious balance implications i think.

we do have something simlar to sliding ships coming, thats already thought of.

Possibilty of remote controlled crewless ships, as in incorporating shadowtech control implants.

Centauri Vorchan, from canon , maybe other races.
