Magic Tweaking to add variety.

Hi All,

I just thought of a simple optional rule to make all Magic Users a little more varied and a little less powerful.
Instead of each character getting all their spells at each level they get one less than the amount on the spell list. So a Sorcerer gets 5 spells from the list of 6, a Warlock 4 of 5, a Mystic 3 of 4. It makes the fighters feel a bit tougher and means that you can have two sorcerers in the party with differing spells. However each time they reach a level dividable by 3 they can select on lower level spell to gain, so for example a Sorcerer reaches level 3 he opts to learn Inflict Wound, but cannot gain a 3rd level Banquet spell at this time, at level 6 he could choose to gain that spell. This progression continues past the tenth level allowing sorcerers to feel as if they are developing in skills, instead of simply maxing out on spells. So that last 10th level sorecerer spell will not be achieved until the lofty level 30! Then again you bet the one they keep in reserve is a 1st level spell.

Just an idea, play with it guys.

Simon
