LW Mega-Deal still avaliable?

Mongoose
Hello, just found out that Mongoose was redoing this series and I was wondering if the Mega-Deal is still an option.

Thanks,
Lockery

From what I have been able to locate, seems the deal is no longer offered. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,
Lockery

That's what the original post said back in '06 but that was when they also said the novels would be out last year! So, I wouldn't count your chickens... :)

Wish I could help. I placed my order back in April but paid no attention to when the offer was taken down.

I believe at this point the mega-deal is finished. Now I believe the policy is to print enough collector's editions to satisfy existing mega-deal customers who have not received their books, with an overrun of around 500 or so to be sold individually on the website. I believe the reason for this is because as we are getting to book six, we are reaching a point where when the overruns of the earlier books sell out, continuing to run the mega-deal would mean having to continuing to print runs of the collector's editions. If they did this, the collector's editions wouldn't be so "collector"; so if you want the collector's editions I advise you buy them as soon as you can when the overruns become available on the website, because for example; once book one is sent out to all the mega-deal customers, and all of the overruns are sold, that's it. If you want a copy, you'll have to get it from a private collector. If you buy all of the collector's editions individually, the only benefit you will have is to own them; so far as I can tell you will not get the free shipping or the free novels. Mongoose of course could very well change this in the future, but to do so would virtually negate the idea of benefits being offered to mega-deal customers who paid a rather large sum of money up front to be a part of it. If I've stated anything incorrectly, then I eagerly await being set straight by a Mongoose-type-person.

Sunrider, to be honest, I hope you're completely wrong. At the time that I ordered the first 4 books, it was clearly stated that those people who ordered the books individually, as long as they ordered all of them, would also get the same benefits as those people who ordered the mega-deal up front. It would be a horrible breach of trust to change that policy after orders have already been placed.
Also, I hope that these reprints are not a limited run, as you wrote. Is there any reason that they will stop printing the books, as long as there is a reasonable demand for them? I don't see why they would.

As I mentioned, it would be nice to get an official company response here.

The CE versions, not the paperbacks, are going to be a limited print run of 500

There has been no mention of over-riding the previous statement that buying the full set wouldn't net you the benefits afterwards.

Matt always sounds very busy, but I am sure will be able to clarifying at some point soon - if you are concerned, a direct e-mail might elicit a reposne faster to sales@ ?

I've sent off an email to Matthew, referring to this thread. I hope to hear something soon. I definitely made a conscious decision to buy all the books individually after having read about that, and I really hope they won't reneg on the offer.

Hi guys,

We stand by the original offer for those buying the entire range individually.

The books will be a limited run, but we are still floating on an exact figure (500 at the moment, if it rises, it won't be by much), and it will likely change throughout the range. For example, Book One may have no limit, for obvious reasons, at least until the softbacks appear.

Thankyou for your response. It's good to have your fears allayed by the 'Head Honcho'. Now I can sleep at night - thanks! :)

What was the non-Mega-Deal-deal again?

It was simply that if you order all the Collector's Editions individually, you get the same benefits as those people who ordered them all up front.

Do you get postage refunded? I thought it was just free novels. Will the novels be paperbacks now that the Collector's Editions are being done in limited numbers?

Ah, sorry, I think the postage refund was not included. Just the novels. I'm not sure about the papersbacks - I think you still have a chance to get the Collector's Editions, if you order now, but don't quote me on that. :)

I think the novels were always going to be paperbacks, just the CE versions with were hardback

The novels has always been said to be Collector's Edition as well. At least when they were mentioned with the Mega-deal.
