LW 16 Bonus Adventure: Sec 15

Great bonus adventure. It was really engaging.

"Mercenaries loot, and soldiers do their duty."

I'm a mercenary. In sect 15, we catch a tempting glimpse of a chamber with an iron banded chest and a hunting horn hanging from a copper hook.

I'm curious. What is in the chest and horn?

I'm guessing a Bor gun, and a lot of gold !

August, what say you?

Excellent question. The horn is a Borese traveling horn, a multiple purpose device with a copper insert full of powder, a plugged tip with a mouthpiece for sounding and an inside scoured clean for drinking. Noise, flash and ale - everything a dwarf needs for happiness.

The chest, however, is empty. It was ransacked long ago by the dwarves before they left. It wasn't really meant as a lure but the dwarves had to travel fast and light so they left it behind.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the adventure!

I enjoyed the bonus adventure too - I found quite an easy way through it (which was a pleasent surprise after the difficulty of getting out of Kaag!) I think there may be more to come from Dire, I certainly hope so as it's a really good mini-series.

Well done August

I am a big believer of the 'there's one path that allows success, rewarding smart choices regardless of stats and luck' school of game book thought. Looks like you found it! :)

I certainly hope to offer more of Dire's story in books to come.

I greatly enjoyed re-reading the book to explore the different paths: each of them brings another key information about the mystery! Congratulations August, another exciting story, which raises many thrilling questions (who would think there are so many secrets in the Durncrag?)! Dire is really a great series, can't wait to read a sequel!

Just wanted to give you all the update as soon as I got it myself...

Mister Dever has given me the green light to complete work on the third chapter of Dire's tale. It will be the Bonus Adventure for Book 19!

Looks like folks will be getting the answers they've been seeking. :)

Great news August!!! LW19 is the right issue to reveal us the fate of Dire! I can't wait to learn more about the mysterious powers he encountered during his trip in the Durncrags and of course to see Azavath again!!

Good luck for the writing :)
