Looking for players in the Portland / Vancouver area

Last year it was held the weekend of August 8. I skipped it in 2007, although that had been the first pass in over a decade. Not their fault, mine. It's a great Game Con and has been going for nearly 30 years in the Seattle area.

Me and a friend of mine have also started playing, although we are both using counters until we can get ahold of miniatures. only day that really works for me at the moment though is sunday as im working 10 hour days mon-sat so until that cools down sunday is all i got might be able to get together with rabidchild as well, been meaning to get together with him but just hasn't happend yet.

I'm located in Troutdale OR just off I84, and my friend is over on 64th near foster.

I need a new game to play like I need a hole in my head but I've wanted to learn CTA for several years. I've just picked up the two 2nd ed. books of CTA and although I'm an hour or so north of Portland I should be able to make a few meetings if a "gathering" (pardon the pun) is planned. Sunday is also best for me as I run a business 6/7ths of the week.

I'm the friend that TheRegent mentioned. I'm very pleased that the Vancouver/Portland area is picking up players of several of Mongoose's games. I also plan to acquire miniatures but for now I can use some old Micro Machines as proxies and the counters of course.

Is anyone here interested in a gathering at Bridgetown in the near future? I can't think of a better public locale to playtest, and we could bring a little advertisement for the game as well as get in some practice. BuShips and I are planning on attending Gamestorm at the end of March, so we would like to get in some practice before.

well i'll be seeing my friend this weekend see if he might want to head over to Bridgetown some sunday, i know rabid lives over in that area somewhere so he may be interested. throw out some potential dates and i can ask my friend if he'd be interested.
