Looking for MRQ creatures for Slaine

Mongoose
Guys,
I have recently obtained MRQ Slaine. I was just wondering about some of the creatures from the D20 stuff eg the Kelpie and the Fachan from The Invulnerable King. Are there MRQ rules for them available in any of the RQ monsters books?

Nuts. Thought I had managed to track down all the critters. Stupid of me to not twig there would be some in the campaign we did. AAARGH!

Well I guess I will have those to add to my Slaine projects, along with Wurrums, Dobhar-Chu, Cat Sith, Cwn Annwn, Leahaun Shee, Phouka, Urisk...

Not to mention some Midgard and Carnival stuff...

....and the Hairy ones and the Dire Wolf from Tir Nan Og.
Any chance that you could gather them for a Signs and Portents article or two?

I left out a couple of creatures for differing reasons (although is not finding them / incompetence a reason?), one or two I just did not like at all in their (then) current form.

Possibly at a later date I will put together a decent number of critters for Slaine. But at the moment I have the next three books part written / planned out to get through (with other books in the distant horizon, assuming all goes well). But I do want to get through two of these before moving on to a Slaine article or extra critters in a book (say a chapter somewhere in an expansion of some kind).

So far I have over a dozen critters to add to Slaine, with some research I may come up with more.

I look forward to seeing anything that you publish. I did notice that the Nuckelavee is somewhat different from its previous incarnation.

I am tracking down a bunch of critters to go into a book, but I doubt I can get anywhere near the total I require to make a proper go of it.

So any monsters are likely to be part of a wider Slaine sourcebook, one that will include magical items from Celtic mythology and maybe some other bits and pieces as I try and pull it together. But this will be in 2009 at the earliest...

a.k.a. 'The Big Book of Ukko'

:D

All things Slaine I am doing in my spare time (not at work), digging out a few critters for a download is not as much fun as preparing a new book.

I can understand but if there is only 1-2 Slaine book a year, we'll have to wait a little before we can get the stats of a fachan (though they can be found in a previous Runequest book).

Absolutely King, the Fachan was one of the creatures in the GW RQ Monsters book. Unforunately, I have no idea what happened to my old GW Monsters book.

Well these two are not really needed. A Hairy One is a mammoth, which is in the Monsers book. For a dire wolf just use a normal wolf or one of the wolves in the forthcoming Monsters II book (which is mostly RQ Glorantha but does have a fair few more normal creatures in it). I may use a wolf as one of the preview critters for the book, so watch out for it.

Might makes right. :D

I am going to see if I have time to put together stats for the fachan, kelpie and a few others over the next week, I hope to bash together an article in time for April's S&P.

Thats great news, I look forward to your article.
I have just purchased Granbretan for Hawkmoon from FLGS and have discovered a Dire Wolf therein. Also, I remembered that there were rules for a mastodon in Elric, so that is them both covered. :)

The Fachan is in the Monsters or RuneQuest deluxe book. Having looked at the campaign there are quite a few of the critters so I think I am going to need the space...

is their room for these monsters in the runequest monster books maybe runequest monsters 6 the naked with woad edition
