Looking for a painter for ACTA

I always use painting services for the games I play, but I am having a devil of a time finding someone to do ACTA in the US.

Anyone do it? know of a service?

thanks in advance!

I find this seller on Ebay, USA based, maybe what u seek.

early EA is fairly easy to. however, after painting my narn ships in the canon paint style(the zigzag stripes), i will never do it again. far too much in the way of freehand painting straight lines.

Tiger stripe, or splotch is a mite easier to do.

How many ships are you talking about?

I have yet to find a service that does ACTA
Many reputable painters/services would if you explained to them a little on what it's about and gave them some good ideas for how to paint them. After all, an interesting new project is just that, regardless of the gaming system :)

I think I'd be willing do it for if you wish. But I would need to get an idea of what you wanted them to look like before I could give you a price. If you wanted the cannon colors, EA would be fairly cheap as I have all the paints necessary and some of the EA ships are extremely easy to paint.

Narns a possibility but if you want the canon zigzag stripes, you will have to look elsewhere. My ships not looking that great I can deal with, but the zigzags are very hard to do well.

Found them! We are in talks now....

Hurray! Bye Bye Counters!

VERY expensive guy, but the only game in town.

Charges retail price per fig to paint

IE: A Hyperion would cost $9.95 to paint.

Charges 4% fee to use paypal

Charges $2 extra to remove flash/prep the mini

$10 extra for conversion

IE: Omega spinning

Still, only game in town, I will give him a shot...

Shakespear,

I currently offer a painting service out of Oklahoma City, OK. I've done commission work for Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40k, Warmachine and ACTA (notably two large, 15+ ships, fleets for Centauri and Narn - including the zigzag pattern). Having checked the link for the eBay painting service, I'm confident that I can turn out a superior product.

I charge price of miniature +1/2 for full assembly. Thus, a $10 model would cost you $15 for me to assemble and paint it. I've done considerable research on pricing and found that my pricing is below average for the quality of work.

I can provide you references from some of my current clients (including the client I did the ACTA models for).

There's no extra charge for using Paypal, and conversions are negotiable.

If you (or anyone else here) is interested, please feel free to contact me via eMail at either home (wererogue@rogue1.com) or work (kenbaker@daaokc.com). I'll try to check these forums for responses, but I only created an account because one of my clients said you were looking for a painter.

Regardless, whether you use my services or not, I wish you luck getting your models completed!

Is wish to offer an endorsment.. Wererogue is 1 of 2 people that i actually recoomend to my customers for painting services..

Yeah, given the way the model is built, charging for spinning on the omega is a bit lame: the only possible extra effort is adjusting the fight stand sprue hole.

Err, have you seen how an Omega is built? I made the rotating section on mine really spin, and it is MUCH more hassle than simply glueing the back and front bits to the middle bit.

1) Drill holes in the front and back sections, for the axle (brass rod) to go into
2) Fix back of the Omega to the axle
3) Glue the halves of the rotating section together, making sure to leave a big enough hole for the axle (using a slightly larger brass rod sleeve is recommended)
4) Put the rotating section on the axle (don't skip this stage!), make sure it spins
5) Glue the front end of Omega to the protruding end of the axle - making sure not to glue the rotating section stopped

It's quite a nightmare, took me an entire evening to do each one. I'm not exactly a professional but I regard myself as reasonably experienced in constructing and converting ACTA models. Considering the effort involved, I'd say $10 is a pretty good rate for this kind of mod.

I will do this as well. Wererogue painted/modeled/ and helped design ALL of my WarMachine and ACTA Models. WE did a custom paint scheme for all. He's got a great eye for color, and detail, and is a great person to work with. Ontop of all that, his prices are the cheapest I was able to find and he was able to turn them out faster than I ever hoped.

If you're looking for a professional model painter, he's at the top of my list.

Thanks again wererogue for all your hard work, and perserverance.... even when I wasn't the easiest person to work with. :)
