Lone Wolf game-books in french?

Mongoose
The french editor Gallimard is currently publishing the french version of Lone Wolf but unfortunately they've decided not to reprint books 21-28.
With the LW re-release, I'm wondering if Mongoose has any plan for a new version of the game books in french (maybe with 'Le Grimoire')?

Why go with Le Grimoire for that? Mongoose has a department for French translations now. I think they could directly translate the new gamebooks themselves (that is, books 29 to 32). I think Gallimard still holds on the rights for the already published NO series (books 21 to 28), even if they don't reprint them currently.

Well, Le Grimoire just published few weeks ago the new french edition of the Lone Wolf RPG, that's why I asked.
Additionally I'd love to see a new translation (the initial french one has few flaws ...).
Anyone from Mongoose? :)

Le Grimoire has the rights to translate the old LWRPG, not the new one (the LWMPGB). Also, I think they got these rights way before the French department was created by Mongoose. So in any case, if there is a new French translation that comes up for LW, I think Mongoose will do it themselves.

Why not Blackcat?

Le Grimoire continue to translate Mongoose texts, and expand the world and the game with Mongoose Publishing/Joe Dever agreement. So, if some people are interested in our projects, they are welcome...

We could translate/publish the new gamebooks but Gallimard is the 2nd biggest french publisher. Gallimard can sell much more gamebooks than any other RPG publisher.

Translate/Print the books is one (first) thing. Another one is to sell many copies of them. It is the most important thing.

Because now that Mongoose has a department that translates its own catalog in French, it's a possibility that they will prefer to publish the gamebooks in French themselves. I'm not saying that you should not get the rights to translate, but it seems more logic to me to translate things inhouse if you have your very own department for translation instead of going with someone outside.

It is very often a matter of time, outsourcing translation can be more cost-effective than actually diverting writers to the project who could be better served writing actual books.

Also, you have to hire a specific translator unless your in-house staff can speak French for example.
