Large Particle Bay: Damage 8D + 8
Large Fusion Bay: Damage 2DD + 2

Non-destructive bays add +1 for each 3.5 average damage for an increase of +28,6%.
Destructive bays add +1 for each 35 average damage for an increase of +2,9%.

A bit inconsistent?

Perhaps, it is +10 dmg in this case (per ddice)?

I already suggested this in another thread, but I see no harm in implementing the Large bay bonus damage directly into the table.

I suspected something like that. But the rules specifically says +1 per 1DD.

Suggestion: Change "Large bays add +1 per damage dice to the final damage total, ..." to "Large bays add +1 on each damage die, ..." on p29.

Or we could simply add the predictable dmg in the bay weapon table and skip the rule altogether.

Large Particle Bay - Damage - 8D + 8
Large Fusion Bay - Damage - 2DD + 20

Am I the only one who has a fundamental issue with the whole DD damage mechanic? Other than simplifying dice rolling I fail to see any benefit. The fact that your effect is not added in decreases the value of skilled gunners. Plus you lose a lot of granularity on weapons past the threshold of 9D. After that you only have weapons that only do increments of 10x damage. Gone are the 14D or 16D damage weapons. If you just need a simpler dice rolling convention why don't we just say in a sidebar that if you want easier dice rolling simply roll say half the dice and double the result...

You are not the only one Kevin but we are WAY past that point. :) This was discussed back in October of last year.
