LAMI

Sneaky

Mongoose
No, I DO have the right forum

Am I the only person thinking that we don't need miniatures for securty models at least now? (See Crusade if confused)

One point though, maybe those guys were Earthforce ground troops, rather than security, as we did see something more conventional to whats already the image of security personnel in the B5 universe in Crusade aswell. Hmmmmm...

They're marines rather security. Or are they Alliance Troopers ;) Or are they actually US Marine Corps from 2061...

They are Earthforce soldiers (ie. GROPOS) , acting as the marine contingent (ship's troops) on the Excalibur and other EF ships .
And yes , I have also noted the ST helmets . In fact , I plan to use them as EF troopers.
Now , if Mongoose released a few of them with berets...

If you check EM4's selection of Future Skimish miniatures, some are eminently suitable... (http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/TROOPERS.html) The rifles aren't right, but with a sympathetic paint job a lot of these are spot on for the Crusade style ship's troops.

They are too bulky compared to the LAMI figures and the general style of B5 (in fact they would appear as a bunch of weight lifting soldiers , and both the armour and weapons seen too un-Babylonic-5 to me)
I was talking about the berets because we regularly see EF GROPOS with berets durinf the series , both in the Excalibur and other EF ships/bases . It would seem that after joining the ISA , Earthforce reintroduced a few pieces of uniformity that are very distinctive of the humanity military traditions .
BTW , I would like to know if Mongoose couls post somewhere here a few images of the new B5 28mm miniatures (photos , sketches and the like) .
I also would like to know if the 28mm EF soldiers would have the Babylon 5 -PASGT (ie. modern US) kevlar helmet+Vietnam-style flack jacket- or the Crusade (ST helmet+kevlar vest) look .

Given these are 28mm not the 30mm that Mongoose produce you might be suprised. They scale very well with the former Harlequin B5 figures (though admittedly mine were the original Grenadier ones but they came from the same masters...).

You could try GW's Cadian Shock troops as EA marines as there weapons look alike and all you need to do is remove that stupid mutant eagle from them and a chain-sword and convert it to a shock stick

Cadian troops ? . They are even worse .
LAMI minis are very adequate to represent EA soldiers -GROPOS- , because in crusade the EA gropos employed the SST mivie helmet , althoug with a flexible , modern (1990s) looking kevlar-like vest , intead of the rigid cuirass employed by the LAMI (althoug painted in black or light grenn , they can be easily passed as a flexible armour vest) .
If you do not want to use LAMI , cadian troopers or EM-4 , and you want to have figures with a certin touch of "realism" , (or you want to represent the original series take on the future of human infantry -with PASGT helmets and kevlar vests) , you shoud use modern 28mm miniatures (the best are those of The Assault Group , or Dadi & Piombo) .
Within their ranges , you can easily find adequate miniatures , both with helmets or (for the crusade era) berets .
