Kill Scores: do we have an answer yet?

Just thought Id throw the cat amongst the pidgeons for a secound here:
In SST V1 k9 corps neo dogs (In the core rule book) have a different kill and target score too.
Now this would tend to imply that there is already a reason for this in the rules (And something besides adding more equipment to boot) as they stand wouldn't it?

or maybe this is just like the Warhammer Dark Elf Assassin with a Ballistic Skill of 9 but no ranged weaponry..........

Yeah, but that BS 9 on assasins was a hold over from the happier days of 3rd edition, so it orginally had a purpose I think (Havent got a copy of ravaging hordes on me right now though lol), its just become redundant.
I do seem to recall though that it was on this point that the SST books explinations began to contradict themselves (To whit the flamer stops dodge saves, but the example goes on about using an improved dodge save from cover which shouldn't happen...), so maybe it was a mechanic which was discarded but somehow survived the purge and the truth is these days noone knows

why haven't they got an armour score? If they can get camo like the snipers have surely they would have got some armour from somewhere. They are supposed tobe a bit more than a bunch of insurgents with AKs aren't they. i thought they were mean to be an army of the middle east, haven't any of the middle east got bullet proof vests etc? Surely iran and some of the others do?
