What are your opinions on the style of architecture one might see in these satellites of Koth? Im thinking most of the dwellings would have a more or less crude mediterranean feel, from the Shemite influence, with the castles and palaces reflecting a more Hyborian and hense European flair.

Thoughts?

lots of these suckers all over the place:

Im asking as I will be providing some sketches and maybe even a few models in my upcoming game sessions in this area. Id like to have an idea of the kind of construction, design etc.

Thanks for the picture, it would certaily seem fitting given the Shemite history but what about the Hyborian influence.

i think there's a description of the buildings in Road of Kings. don't have it in front of me though.
but as we established in the other thread - it looks like whatever you want it to look like.

I've always imagined Khauran and Khoraja as crusader states. So cities that evoke a Persian/Islamic influence with newer fortifications reflecting a middle-ages eruopean influence. The older buildings would have hypostyle halls, large central gardens/courtyards and thin minarets. The Castles would use square towers and curtain walls.

Try searching for some Fatimid architecture on line.

Hope that helps.
