Keeping track of fighters for VP's

I only discovered yesterday that fighters launched from ships aren't worth any VP's. So I wondered how people track which ones do and which don't on the table?

I number my fighter bases.

I use different colors for the groups. You may also use a different race's fighter counters...

example, in a fight between EA and the Minbari, you might use Narn Frazi counters to represent fighters bought as independant wings.

For an upcoming tournement, I'm thinking of using colored, stick-on, paper dots.
