during a campaign is there any restrictions on what equipment justice department forces can purchace between games? i.e could my street just buy a katana?

im just wondering for things like bionics and med kits as well as the more exotic things like jet packs and powerboards

That is a very good question. We don't have a rule at the moment that the Justice Department _can't_ acquire those things (though we are looking into it!).

REading the comics I have never seen an MC1 Judge start with special equipment. Now they may pick up something different during the issue, but they never start the comic wiht anything other than Justice Dep equipment.

So I would say no, but then again as always GM has final say. I mean I have all my judges running as a group, psi, tech, and street all on the same patrol route with two having holocuast duty.
You don'y see anything like that in the comics.
