Sorry to say but the miniatures are really not selling this game to me, quite the opposite in fact
Do you mind if I ask why not? I'm genuinely interested.
I like the sculpts (own most of them already, as they're re-releases, and they paint up very nicely). What
would sell the game to you? Faction boxes would help - is that because they would tell you something more about the game, offering a starting point for purchases? Or are you unfamiliar with the setting and factions would be one way to key in?

Well its a standard issue I feel the game industry is having to face, it needs to be accessible to new gamers, it needs to be simple to start up in, and it needs to ping !!! also units cards are a total bonus. Games need to be as accessible as a computer game, go out grab a started, grab your rules and play... books should have suggested quantity of dice per player on the back and other equipment needed for play, its such a simple concept that every publisher misses often.
mini wise they just look very 1990's in style of sculpt the poses are very undramatic and the crispness is not that great, the painting style doesn't sell it to me either, but then i understand its a comic book based game in many ways so would possibly have the same paint style, if that is the case you definably need the minis to pop more.
they remind me of some sculpts i saw for review done by art students, there a good start but not wage worthy yet. the guns look wrong and look to be gun shaped but not gun looking or functional. some of the anatomy looks a bit lazy.
its like a mix of comic book sculpts and a serouse sculpt, and they seem to have missed both, i think sculpts full of crisp lines that would paint them selves would help attain what MGP maybe aiming for.
If I was to do this I would produce box sets of a standard quick fun game tournament legal force, in a box set, on the back of the box a rosta sheet for the models that can be cut out and used in games, and let people have a rough idea how this force may play and aid them in making a decision on their purchase, also to aid learning, get some one to play your game 3-4 times and understand what their doing, is half the battle... but its the minis and how easy it is to create you first force for your fist game that will get them to play their 1st game.
Please try and see this as constructive criticism and not moaning, There definitely not awful miniatures, I just want to see the games industry pop alive, I think privateer press got it so spot on with their starter sets, and they have now just improved on it again.
PS I want robots lots of robots lol..
