It's Spring Time In Cimmeria, and it's Forty Below

Is there anything in the game (or anywhere else) that will give me an indication of the temperature in Cimmeria at different times of the year?

I would think this type of info would be in the Cimmeria book, but it seems to be missing.

I started my game last night on May 1st, the first day of summer, according to the Cimmeria book. I just guessed that the temperature was in the late 70's (degrees F, for you people in Europe) or so.

Is this discussed anywhere in the game? Or somewhere else? I'd like to know how cold it gets in winter, too.

If not, I guess I could take the Europe overlay, see which country covers where Cimmeria is, then check the weather for that country.

REH alsways described Cimmeria as a place very similar to the Scottish highlands (a bit colder than Dublin), so maybe take a look at Inverness:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness

Of course Inverness is heavily influenced by the maritime climate, so if you were to find some twon's in the elevated and inland regions of the highlands you might get a fairer comparison to Cimmeria.

It seems that there is a strong Marine influence (Hyborian Gulf Stream?)on the Thurian Continent which translates to Pict-land being comparably warmer than its lattitude would suggest since Pictland has Giant snakes and forests that host tropical game such as Toucans, alligators, etc...

This Marine influence would not cross the mountains to Cimmeria, entirely, but would still affect it. The Cimmerians have "shaggy highland cattle" which are hardy little cows, but would not be so healthy with Minus Forty temps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland_cattle

That's not to say a North-easter could not blow out of the Artic and put all of Cimmeria into a deep freeze for a couple of weeks with -20 temps and snow drifts and frozen livestock, I just think this occurrence would hardly ever happen more once or twice a winter.

The problem is if we make Cimmeria really really cold, then the Nordheimers would be living in an icebox all year around.

That's why I went with Dublin's temperatures. I looked at the map of Europe superimposed over the map of the Hyborian Age and saw that much of Cimmeria sinks into the sea. But, the latitiude is high.

But, I considered Cimmeria being land-locked, so I dropped the latitude a hair, to Dublin, so that it would be a bit warmer.

The temperatures above seem to be a good compromise. They range from a few degrees above freezing to the mid-60's. That sounds like Cimmeria, doesn't it?
