ISA Question

Is there any official ruling on that matter? Since im going to buy that fleet im writing down (once its all legal) i should know about the Allies thing.
And since your discussing the matter i think there is nothing in the rulebook to solve the problem.

Nothing in the rulebook.

Can't remember if there was a ruling on it though. It's even worse for the poor old Psi Corps, according to the rules as written they can have either no EA allies, or 2 FAPs.. nothing in between. There may have been a rulesmasters thread about it, I really can't remember which I know is rare for me!!!

So im going to tell the poeple the following (translated from german :D ):
"either you let me play with less then one FAP or face the Wrath of 3 Stuteeka War Carriers" :D i guess that should do the trick...

But jokes aside i guess in my gaming group there wont be a problem since we are no big fans of RAW anyway.

For tournaments hmmm ok asking before driving i guess ^^.

Ok here i have a new fleet and i think this should be legal. It would be nice to hear your opinions as experienced gamers on it. Enemys as i said EA Crusade, Vorlons and Narn and maybe Drakh at some later point.

1 War Point
Tara'Lin Command Cruiser

1 War Point
Whitestar Carrier

1 War Point
Stuteeka War Carrier
Shakaak Queen Cruiser
Shrutaa Queen Ship

1 War Point
2 Whitestar Gunships

1 War Point
1 Whitestar I
2 Whitestar II
1 The Liandra Battle Frigate
2 Bluestar

Looks good, somewhat scary even....

On the allies thing, we have always played as 'up to...' with all the allies rules, and generally have not required a specific point to be broken down entirely within that allied group. (We also did not restrict to one race within league, but can at least understand where that comes from.)

Thanks :) but why scary? Because the Gaim and the ISA work good together? I think they do on paper btw.

The Basic idear of the fleet is to bomb away with the Gaim and the Tara'Lin on long range, while the Whitestars/Bluestars/Gunships take the flank. The Elite Fighters engage smaller vessels and the Klikita play interceptor Nial and Shial engage fighters that survive the bombing.
The Liandra will stay with the slower ships as "escort".

I know that no plan survives contact but one can always try :).

As far as the allies FAP thing goes: the english language defines your answer, it says "may spend 1 FAP of your allowance" (in the case of ISA and 2 FAP in the case of Psi Corps) and since we know you can split any point down, there is no reason to assume you can't split it as long as you don't take more than the one point.

Unless your referring to another part of the discussion I'm not sure that was the problem. People were wondering if they could take 1 War point and get 1 battle ally, 1 raid ally, 1 skirmish ally and 2 bluestars.

By the wording it doesn't appear to be allowed but most don't have a problem with doing it this way, personally I don't have a problem with it, anytime I can add more Bluestars to a fleet makes me happy. Some people, however, have to deal with rules lawyers and it should be clarified that since the book says 'may spend 1 FAP' and not 'may spend up to 1 FAP' then RAW if you take allies you must take 1 full FAP.

Perhaps Im reading it incorrectly but thats how it appears to me.

That said I could care less if someone wants to take less then a full FAP of allies but then my group doesn't strictly follow RAW.

Same with us. Makes more sense and makes it easier on those that don't have big fleets.

I dont see anywhere were you cant. And Our Local guy is letting us use them in tourneys with mixed league fleets so i dont see why not. although in a tourney at 5 points raid that may be an issue.

Their use is quite specifically delineated in the book. As on offs in scenarios, as "models" as to what you can do when you create new ships, and for actual use in mixed League fleets. Nothing pertaining to the ISA is specified.
