ISA Fighters

Hi brand new to the game. I was at GenCon this year and got really interested in the minis. I am starting with the ISA. I love the white stars. Now I see that they can choose nials, starfuries, WS fighters, etc. I am wondering is there a big advantage to mixing up the fighters instead of going with just WS fighters?

Some ISA ships carry Nials as standard. Others have the Starfuries. Only the White Star Carrier actually carries White Star Fighters.

I'm not aware of WS Fighters being an option to replace Nials like EA Thunderbolts can replace Auroras.

not in the ISA they cant, this is not an option they have. admittedly only one ship carries EA fighters and that has 3 flights each of t-bolts and auroras.

Yeah, you really don't have any choice in mixing up fighters, but I've found that you get a nice suitable mixture at all levels. The Nials (as always) are double tough (they carry the same stats as the Nials under the Minbari roster, just so you know). The WS fighters are excellent anti-shipping fighters and the Shials are perfect when stealth is a necessity.

Yeah, ISA does pack some extremely potent fighters, I've been on the loving end of a few WS fighters and wasn't a lot of fun. Even T-Bolts and Starfuries are scarier than normal.

The only downside for ISA fighters is their numbers; you don't have any ships that carry any amount of them until War PL. Which means their either scary effective, or dogfight bait.
