Ipsha Warglobe

Romu

Banded Mongoose
I prolly won't have the books for a little while as my lgs owner was a on holliday and just came back.

I just read the 2ed description and it talks about the Ipsha Warglobe. That's one of the ship that made me want to play league of non aligned worlds since it's one of the three first league ships we see with a sunhawk and a xorr and it looked too damn good.

I was wondering what it was like ? Anybody can spoil the surprise a little for me please ? :)

I'll have to try build something from scratch to play it now ! As we have official rules for it ! Gonna get to it when i'm back from work :D

Battle-level, several dice of A and F SAP, TD guns (several, not many). Has a strange funky "singularity" effect, by which it ignores damage (not crew) and critical hits rarely (!). Moves by Shadow movement rules.

However, the bad news --- as of the preview, they are there for one-offs and scenarios, but are specifically not tournament- or campaign-legal: "The ships in this section should not be used alongside other fleets in tournaments or campaigns. Instead, they are intended to show what else is possible in the galaxy, and for players to create their own scenarios involving vessels very different from those in the fleet lists."

Thanks :)

Think i'm going to like it, too bad about the scenario thing tho.
Anyone know anything about their background and if there is anything on them in the rpg books ?

But the next sentence reads: "Combined fleets of the Non-Aligned Worlds may select Hurr Gunships, Ipsha War Globes and Lumati Transports as if they were League ships."

This is not contradictory to the above --- League fleets in scenarios and one-off games may select the above ships. They wouldn't be legal for tournaments and campaigns, however.

The two statements do not conflict with each other in any way.

Outstanding :)
As long as i can use them for casual games !

Even more reason to build one (if mongoose doesn't plan on making a miniature in next 2 months 8) )

Lumati transports ? Never heard of those. Do we see them on the series aswell ?

Remember the blue, long, spiky thing that brought that alien Ivanova pretended to have sex with? There you go! :D

I see no reason why the Warglobe, the gunship and the Lumati transport shouldn´t be allowed to be included in a mixed league fleet in a campaign; and after all, you can always houserule otherwhise.

It could likely be the result of incomplete/inadequate playtesting. That way, if they are too overpowering, they can only spoil individual games instead of wrecking tourneys, or, worse, campaigns.

Shouldn´t such things even out in a campaign? Any overpwoered ship will be the primary target in any game it takes part in; which either means that the ship won´t survive long, or that it will consume extreme amunts of RR points to keep it repaired. Besides, players will most likely gang up on someone who dominates a campaign.

So I´d say, a houserule like "league players can include up to one each of the following ships in their campaign fleet: Ipsha warglobe, Hurr gunship, lumati transport" shouldn´t really destabilize a campaign at all.

Probably more worried about multiples of the same ship - not sure can't recall the stats at work....... :)

That´s why I said "one each" - can´t really say anything about it without the stats of course, but that should keep things safe (in a campaign at least)

So you'd let me have an Octurion for a Raid point in a campaign, because it would be called primary and killed off quickly? Excellent

Hehe well that's a raid/war comparison :)

The globe is battle, and from what i heard so far it doesn't sounds like armagueddon like :D

Anyway i'm all about fair, but i guess one could be ok in a campaign.
A one ship of each race campaign in lonaw could be nice !

In a campaign, with a limit of one and enough people playing along to give you some trouble should you start do dominate the campaign with the Octurion? Actually, yes, I would. But then, I´m known to be a little eccentric here in my club- oh, and I just love the miniature, so seeing it more often for whatever reason is good. :D
