Increasing Characteristics

So, is it possible to increase a characteristic [DEX, EDU, etc.] after character generation? I've looked up the Post Career Education section [pg 55 Core Rules 2022] and it only describes skill increases.

The Traveller Companion supplement has rules for it (p42 of the 2024 version).

Basically works just like increasing a skill where you pay the current level + 1 in XP (which can be earned via training) to achieve the next level. Double the XP cost for INT and EDU.

SOC is increased by spending lots of money and, I believe, is covered in the Core rulebook.

Cannot see any words to this effect. I just see Social Standing and Nobility (pg. 11) and Standards of Living (pg. 98). Neither seem to cover increase SOC.

You're right, it's buried in the text-heavy section Effective SOC in the Traveller's Companion, p11-12. Took me so long to find it I was starting to wonder if I had hallucinated it lol.
