Ideas for Battlefield Evolution minitures

Mongoose
It's a great game, and I like that it can be played right out of the box. Here's a few ideas, though, on some future minitures and game pieces (at least for the USMC) -

1)SCOUT/SNIPER TEAMS- if you're gonna have the USMC - you CANNOT forget the snipers! I'd say four to six minitures (sniper & spotter), with at least one of them armed with a Barrett .50.

2)LAV's (Light Armored Vehicles), AMTRAK's (Amphibious Tracked vehicles), STRYKER's, or M1114 Armored HUMMWV (or a variant) - create some more Transport choices with some supporting firepower.

3)F22 Raptor or Harrier's - another Air Support choice.

4)DRAGON or TOW Anti-armor systems for infantry squads or anti armor teams.

5)Fire Support Units - can be added in with the command section (if one is planned in the future for USMC) which calls in Air Strikes (can be used as modifiers when targeting buildings or enemy units from the Super Cobra) or indirect fire support.

6)Mortar teams- No plan is ever complete without a fire support plan.

I thought about maybe a UAV team, but that may be a little much - may be used as modifiers to infantry squads and force recon 'to hit' rolls, as well as spotting targets and hidden enemy units.
Anybody else with some ideas?

Since the Adv. Rule book has a section that says USMC can rappel out of helo's, why not have a Chinook or such as a transport choice?

)SCOUT/SNIPER TEAMS- Already planned

2)LAV's (Light Armored Vehicles), AMTRAK's (Amphibious Tracked vehicles), STRYKER's, or M1114 Armored HUMMWV (or a variant) - Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle is in the pipeline

3)F22 Raptor or Harrier's - F-35B's coming

:)

To be honest at the scale the game is pitched at none of the fixed wing and most of the helos shouldn't be anywhere near the tabletop (but they look cool so they WILL be there :) ). However, UAVs and UCAVs are another matter entirely and in some ways (although not in others) I'm surprised that they aren't already in the game or already listed for release.

Close Air Support - usually the helos were about 2 -5 minutes off station, so they were really close by. Fixed wing aircraft was a little different. Jet pilots don't like to go that slow, except for A-10's.

i wanna see more stuff like gun trucks and such, evan british bulldogs would be great, as would scimiters.

personaly mongoose needs to think smaller befor bigger.

Darn, I was going to suggest Gun Trucks. :P

Hummers with Hillbilly Armour then.

That, and artillery.

I'd like to suggest Canadian Armed Forces (JTF2 perhaps?), but know better. Just not as big a market as there would be in comparison.

I want my A-10s. How can you not love those things :)

How about these units as ideas. Some of these could probably be made, but these would also make good Mini’s for any Modern RPG.

I wonder if Mongoose is going to keep USMC strickly jarheads or put out a line for other services such as Army Rangers and Special Forces, Air Force aircraft and Navy SEALS? Although getting a Battleship would be cool - you could use one table for the Battleship while yer playing on another.

And while I'm thinking about it, depending on the size and scale of the battlefield - what would be the point of large cal. howitzer units? Unless you are playing a scenerio that scales out to about 20-30k, you wouldn't have a need for anything larger than a 105mm pop-gun. Mortars can get you some decent range, plus are (technically) supposed to be more responsive to calls for fire. Hence, my argument in favor of Mortar units.

I mentioned before that the Chinook would be a good transport choice for the USMC, but I forgot about the Osprey and the Sea Stallion. Though I'm not too crazy about the Osprey (which will probably be the one produced and marketed), the Sea Stallion is used more frequently for Air Assault missions and the like. I'm just a fountain of ideas right now. BTW - is there anybody around the Savannah GA area that plays BFE? A couple of us got into it when it first came out, now I rarely ever see anybody playing.

Rules for using Transformers toys. :D :D

Just saw the movie this morning, thought it was awesomely awesome !!!

And no, I was not a fan back in the '80's.

Ya, too bad anything like that would have to be fan-based.

Look who owns Transformers, and look at what they own.

Yep, guess who'll get that contract.

BTW, what is the scale of these models? I never paid much attention to it until I thought about building terrain models (literally) for the game.

You won't be seeing new BFE miniatures for a while. There is an article on starship troopers evolution in signs and portnets which basically mentions that they are putting bfe production on hold until all the kinks are worked out. Basically, they want it all to be good, and not to make BFE the ogly lesbian sister of starship troopers, but a good independant and worthy game in its own right. I wouldn't like to see what happened with the likes of Mighty armies or GOMC1 happen to BFE, and neither would mongoose by the looks of it.
