Hey Midden face, how do you get a star background. Is that an after program edit?

Call me Ian, I really don't mind :)

Export model as a 2D PNG

1. In Photoshop, magic eraser (or rubber to us brits) the backdrop,
2. You should ave a transparent backdrop,
3. 3 then create new layer,
4. Put new layer underneath image.

There you go edit that new layer to your hearts content.
Me I like gradient fills, then used Universe to draw stars, usually I draw my own.

One little issue, there some white bits around the edge, I can get rid of these by rubbing them out (erasing), colouring or adding inner glow to the image layer.

I'm assuming you use white, white isn;t the best colour, especially if some sections of the image are white, so use bright green like the green screens in movies. You can paint behind the object to fill in bit that the erasing have removed.

Not 100% certain but I think gimp can do most of the same things I have noted above.

Right, I need photo-shop or Gimp then... you know, I don't think I'm going to be getting Gimp. Seriously, who chose than name *shakes head*
Anyway, thanks for the advice.

Thanks Ian
(Call me Barnes btw... yeah, I'm really imaginative with my user-names.)

Nothing wrong with GIMP, works well. As for the name, does it really matter what it is called, as long as it works?

GIMP is a stupid name. Why can't you change it?

GIMP is comfortable with its name and thinks that you should apologise for your rudeness.

And yes GIMP can do this.

Heh, Gimp always make me giggle. Great name, geek fact: it means GNU Image Manipulation Program.

I'll fire it up and take a look again. I think its one my other machine...

Just trying to fit a pilot, I've borrowed one from the Google library, A U2 Spy plane pilot in fact.

Oh yes, if you export as PNG or whatever change the settings of the export to get the biggest size you can handle - I use something like 2000x1000 is.
When you export and save as, theres a tiny box saying option bottom right.

Yep thats him, the 3D Warehouse calls him S71/U2 Pilot. I kind of prefer the flight suits in the new Battelstar Series.

Well this fighter gets a rest for now.... hmmm what shall I do next...

Dammit forget the image.. You can see the borrowed pilot better and a I added tiny inner stroke in PS to kill the whiteb its, the backdrop is hand built.
