The reimagining of the Cthulhu mythos in the book is brilliant. The writing is good, and the books is gorgeous. There are a few pages where the red text looks out-of-focus, but it's rare enough that it doesn't really bother me.
My only real beef it the redicuous "hybrid damage" rule. If a rocket launcher or heavy machine gun does integrity level damage, one should just treat it properly so that it blows a vitality scale victim to bits, instead of insisting that the damage is the same to a mecha or to a soldier. That makes absoutely no sense. The most crasy bit is that it's perfectly possible for the mecha to have 1/1 armour, and for the soldier to have 3/3 armour... and despite the x50 scaling, the soldiers armour will defend him/her from the mortar round that will do worse harm to the mecha!!! *eyeroll*
Vitality scale creature hit vit an integrity scale weapon... time to see if you can find some bits to bury.
