I am become Gray, I stood between the miniature and the wind, now I will never get this primer off...

Alright as some of you may have noticed I have been tossing out advice right and left about how to paint your miniatures, whats paints to use and other this and that's about miniature painting. But to date I have not actually shown I'm qualified to even hold a brush so I thought it was past time to show my own progress in getting my fleets ready for play.

I started with House Hawkwood, honestly not a personal favorite of mine, but they are kind of the everyman fleet, so I thought they were the best place to start. I chose to use Reaper's Master's series paints, I love these paints there matt finish is wonderful for keeping the miniatures from looking like heaps of cheap plastic. For Hawkwood I started with a gray primer, I thenchose to use Snow Shadow as the base coat and built this up in several find layers. Next I did the trip with Sapphire Blue. After which I lined with a mixture of GW's Washes 50/50 Badab Black and Asurmen Blue. For the yellow striping I used GW's Snakebite Leather as a base, then covered it with GW's Golden Yellow

Unfortunately the camera and lighting wash out much of the intensity of the blue on the models. The yellow was a last minuet contrast idea that actually somehow makes the intense blue, bluer. While the overall paint scheme was extremely simple, I am very proud of the way the whole fleet worked out.

I know what you mean, my greyish streaky white looks much whiter once I added the Ultramarine Blue.

Your ships are looking good.
