Hyborian Calender and timeline

Greetings all,

I’m trying to place events that happened in "the stories" with events that will happen in my own campaign. I’ve looked for a timeline of the Conan saga online and have not found what I’m looking for.

Chronologies are easy. This stories This happened before that but after this. But I’m looking for dates.

Example form some light reading I’ve found that King Vilerus claimed the Westermarck in "1278" and the picts invaded and over ran Conajohara in "1285".

So I ask, is there a referance document anywhere that outlines the chronology using the dates found in the stories? And...what is the dating structure counting up from? i.e. what happened in year 0?

Conan took the Aquilonian throne in 1288 A.A. (After Atlantis?), if that helps.

1288 AA eh?

It says Conan is 41(approx) when he takes the crown. So with the hard date of 1288 and conans age...I can build a tenitive timeline of my own.

My campaign is set in 1279 one year after the westermark has been claimed. It seems Conan is out running around with his Red Brotherhood at this time.

Takeing the timeline beyond Conans life in both directions might make a fun project for when work is slow...

I'm pretty sure I've seen other (conflicting) timelines on other Conan sites.

The GURPS Conan book had a very solid timeline in the back, listing each adventure (Howard and otherwise) in chronological order with a date in the "Age of Aquilonia" (A.A.)

Unfortunately, it doesn't include a general timeline from the eras before or after Conan, it is exclusively about his career. The history they give in the front is as general as that of Howard's own. However, my understanding is that the new Encyclopedia Cthulhiana includes the Thurian timeline within the Cthulhu Mythos timeline the a fair extent, though I have not as yet seen the new edition.
