How would a Corum game work?

Mage

Mongoose
Well, the title says it all. Just started reading the Knight of the Swords and am a good bit through it. Trying to avoid spoilers here but that will be hard. Anyhow, I am aware that Chaosium did a monograph for it, but lets focus on what mongoose can do:#

Magic
Stats for Mabden, Vadhagh, Nadragh
Rules for the setting
Unique parts of character generation (like the way hawkmoon has Fate points, maybe there could be some sort of tragedy thing ala corruption in Conan)
Unique weapons
Bestiary
Maps?

Any takers to debate?

Aren't Mongoose planning a Corum supplement? I preferred Corum to Elric in many ways, he's far more approachable and isn't as cruel or contrary.

Without spoiling the story:

Stats for the Gods would be very useful for PCs wanting to kill them.

I'll be turning my attention to Corum in the very near future.

Dacrsyde did a very good supplement for Stormbringer a few years ago. Chances are, I'll be taking a different approach, but using the Darcsyde book as inspiration.

As to how certain things will work: not sure yet. I want to get a high degree of compatibility between the Hawkmoon and Elric games although Corum requires some key differences, not least in the approach to magic.

I like the Corruption idea. This appears in Darcsyde's book too, so something similar, but most likely linked to the Pact system from Elric.

I really haven't put too much thought into any of the mechanics though. I'm starting to re-read the saga once again, and that usually gets the creative juices flowing.

I just started reading the book as I mentioned above, and never heard of the darcsyde suppliment, as I only got into roleplaying in the last five years, I just felt it would go right with corum since he changes in personlity rappidly from what he sees the mabden do to his people in the first few chapters of the book.

I dont suppose there will be a playtest or tink tank with player input no?

Loz,
I know it maybe to early to comment but do you think you will try to cover both trilogies in the main book or just one like Darcsyde's did?

I've got it - it was a lovely piece of work - nicely presented and very evocative.

It sounds like the idea is to have a updated version - rather like Bright Shadows was of Chaosim's Melnibone.......:)

Not really; it will be a completely new version rather than an update. It has to be to fit with RQ plus, I'll be returning to the novels to see what kind of slant I can bring to the subject matter.

I liked the Darcside book, though I wasn't too keen on the scenarios and I didn't take to the slapstick/gimmicky take on contrivences.
