How PCs qualify for an adventure ?

Bonjour,

I have a strong past playing level based RPG (e.g. D&D) and I am used to have the level target for each adventure I may play (e.g. this a level 1-3 PCs adventure with at a least a Rogue and a Wizard...).

I am wondering how we can have this kind of notice for an MRQ adventure (i.e. simply saying it's more for an experienced group of 3-4 priests...).

My concern is to know what could be a MRQ novice PC, an experienced one... ? On what criterias should I base my indications ?

Thank in advance.

Well its relatively easy. The lower the skills of NPC's and creatures, the lower the play level. Novice, Veteran ETc.

That is the great thing about it, you can adapt any module with the d100 system. Just reduce the skills, magic available (#), and possibly the stats and or armor details and hit points.

When you buy an adventure, it will give you are rough idea of who it is written for.

I believe it starts with Novice and goes up to Veteran or Legendary.

It is not really that hard to tell..

Hope this helps...

Pages 103 and 104 of the RQM rulebook have guidelines for producing characters of different levels of experience. I'd start off by using those.

If you want to convert D&D/D20-style characters to RQ, I wouldn't do it using the "Level 1-3 corresponds to a Novice character" approach.

Instead, I'd look at how the PC interacts with the world, how people judge him and then transalte that into RQ terms. It's a bit wooly but gives a better fit eventually.
