How much Joe Dever earn from the Lonewolf series?

Joe's books, all 28 of them have sold a total of around 6 million copies worldwide if I am not mistaken. If he even got $2.00 from every sale he would have made around 12 million dollars.

Is that about right? Or am I w2ay off the mark here?

Heh. If anyone actually reveals this to you I'd be shocked. This stuff is confidential and in the contracts, for good reason.

Sooo...to turn the tables, how much money do you make? As a Cener Druid, I make 50 silver Lune per year. But that doesn't factor in my compensation of a minimum of 3 human, 20 animal sacrifices per year. The Ceners also pay for my room and board, and any puppy chow that my pet dog eats. Plus a performance incentive of additional humans incrementally. It is a pretty lucrative deal, really. It is all in my contract. You should consider joining the Cener Druids.

I'm not sure about royalties and so on. I think the norm is for the author to be paid a few upfront for each book (or more depending on the deal) plus royalties, a certain percentage of which will go their agent.

Of course, a lot of the Lone Wolf books were sold in the 1980s when the average price was £2 per book (I don't know what the dollar equivilant was back then, but assume $3) so it will be less than $12 million dollars overall!

Even so, one assumes it is enough to make a reasonable living off them. :D

Authors don't earn much off their books. Do a goggle search, for example

Also realise that in 25 years someone earning on average £20,000 a year (decent starting skilled wages) would have earned half a million pounds in their working life. And you'd hope in 25 years you would be able to increase your earnings to more than that!
