"Hover Car" assistance requested

Stratos

Mongoose
I want to convert a couple of 1:43 scale cars into hover cars of the near future. Any suggestions for materials to use to replace the four wheels and to use as an external engine exhaust?! I'm considering designs ranging from Back to the Future (the end of movie 1) to 5th Element, Blade Runner, Star Wars (continual hover - no wheels, ever), etc.

Any and all input would be welcome. Thanks!

I always liked the Spy Hunter type car. Really sleek with the wheels totally gone. I agree, fill with putty and detail...or the Hovercraft look, for which I would run a strip of putty right around the bottom of the car. I think the hardest part of fixing up a hover car is going to be making the finish look uniform. Best of luck.

...Or a flying Oscar Meyer Weiner (Hottie.) van...that would be well tight! Think about it, your gang could pull a daring heist to get at those tasty weiners! I love it! :D :D :D

I purchased two of the actual bladerunner spinners from Antenociti:

Why try to make them when you can buy a really nice one? It is resin and while it will require a bit of effort, I think it'll be worth it to actually put a Spinner on the table.

Also, I pursued this thread at two other game forums, and this was what I got:

I found that Corgi makes 1:43 scale "future" Batmobile vehicles that can fit in wonderfully when stripped and repainted, links:

(a note - Robin's "Red Bird" car in hand is much sleeker and appropriate than the pic would lead one to believe.)

All of these I bought for about $8 each.

I also have a pair of the "Thunder Cycles" line that Hot Wheels made a while back that looked the part as well, specifically, the "BFUSION" (cannot find a pic) and "SHOKBLADE" link:

In the US, Discount Hobbies has a few resin vehicles that could work well from the Grendel line: http://www.megaminis.com/Merchant2/merchan..._Code=GRE-10069

And overseas, Old Crow and GZG make great "utility vehicle" stuff as well:

Forgot to mention Alpha Forge's "Salvage Dog" as a utility truck, just put one of those together and primed it the last two days...
