High Guard Errata

I could see the Special Ops and Assault Boat drivers needing a little Navigation. Don't want to land on the wrong city, after all. Similar for the Ortillery gunners. Most of the Navy, though? No need.

Specifications for the Stealth Jump drive (i.e. price and any tonnage requirements) seem to be missing. Anyone know where they are in the HG supplement?

Also, the prices for railgun ammo and individual torpedoes are missing. The price for a torpedo can be extrapolated from the capital ship construction example but that's quite a hoop to jump through just to get the price.

There's also a discrepancy re: railguns ammo. From the Railgun Barbette's description, a single railgun shot takes up 0.2 ton. However, the description of the Turret drone shows a single shot for a railgun barbette takes up 0.05 ton.

So to thrust a craft at 4G for 2 hours requires 8G/hours of fuel
emphasis mine
It should be G-hours. Having a - between the units means they were multiplied to get the final result. Having a / in the units means you divided. I had to run that over in my head for about half an hour before I figured that out.

Also, I am at a complete loss. A grav drive is powered by the power plant. A reaction drive is powered by fuel. Unless I am totally missing it, a reaction drive ship should require a smaller power plant since it is not getting its accelleration from the power plant. Or if I have a reaction drive, can I just use solar panels to power the rest of the thing? Or how does that work.

You can't see them, but they're there....remember: it's a stealth drive!  ;)

Urmm in my copy of HG the Fusion Powerplant mentioned below I can't see.. because mine has Cost per ton TL11+ Fusion MCR 2.5

so how is it that TL 15 = 1 same cost.. 1 ton of powerplant = 2.5MCr so it's double and a half..

Torpedos should cost 2.6MCr per torpedo (based on the summary on page 72)

Rail Gun Ammo should cost: No idea no clear listing..

Actually if you want to find your way around a km long battleship Navigation would be good.

Two major issues I found in HG

1. Naval Commendation Medal is mentioned, but never explained. Though I'm thinking its the Navy's version of the MCG. I got this from noticing the DM table on pg 7 lists the NCM but not MCG.

2. With the expanded rank levels there's not rules on what bonus benefit roles they give compared to the TMB rank listings.

The section under Capital Ship Damage which lists the descriptions of critical hits has the following sentence under 3. Hull Breach:

"A self–sealing hull means that the breach is automatically fixed, so repairs can take place immediately."

No other details on self-sealing hulls, like price and tonnage requirements (if any), are available anywhere in HG.

Edit:
No, it's not in HG but it is in the Core Rulebook. See the Options section on page 106.

My bad.

At a local store they have High guard, but I would like to know which version it is before buying it, the first that presumabily had major problems and was immediatly called back or the second that only has minor problems (I heard it had mercenary's table of content?).

In any case on the first page, the table of contents has no text, only page numbers. Can anybody tell me if it is the one with major problems, or the one with minor problems?

Thanks

The version you describe is I believe the Mk 1 as we call it, the Mk 2 has the contents page from Mercenary instead.

Both versions have different mistakes seemingly, from what I can agther, the Mk 1 has less errors.

We are keenly awaiting reprints.

Yeah I wonder if anybody was disciplined over the 2x mess up, seems pretty severe.

Can we assume that once Mongoose puts High Guard from the "Pre-Order"-status to the "Currently available"-status that we're talking then about a corrected MkIII ?

If I order the book right now as a pre-order directly with Mongoose, which version will I actually get ???

I'm eagerly awaiting High Guard, but I'm rather loathe to order a book (be it via internet or via a local (German) store) which I then have to send back to get the MkIII-version :(

Any correct news when MKIII will be available ? When can a local store in Germany order the MKIII book for me ?

A recall, really?

I just got HG but was unable to vett it for errata before purchase. Now I have the version with Mercenary TOC.

Is there a MK3 replacement in the offing? Would Mongoose do that?

TIA for any info you can provide...

(BTW: just rolled up characters for my gaming group. Can't wait!)

Matt has said there will be.

I just decided to say buggerit and returned the book to the LGS: let them deal.

I may go for the .pdf instead. Is there a clear conclusion as to whether the .pdf versions are fixed?

EDIT: and now to my chagrin i find that there are infact NO copies of HG at rpgnow.com/drivethrurpg.com.
boo hiss :(

When I got mine, it was the one with the mercenary toc. In an e-mail Matt stated that I would be sent the right one when it became available. Fortunatly it really isn't in bad shape. From what I can tell you can still use the character generation and the ship construction.
