Evening all,

I am having trouble with calculating the Maintenance cost of the completed cruiser design and I will be using the numbers as shown on HG 1e p. 72 while trying to figure out where I'm going of track.

Total cost is MCr 55,535.7075. I believe that this is the cost of the first unit out of the shipyard.

Life support costs are (632 x 3,000) MCr1.896 per month. I can match the life support cost.

Maintenance costs are (55,508.7075/12 x 0.001) MCr4.6257 per month.

From CRB 1e p. 137: 1/12 of 0.1% of the ship's purchase price/month
From CRB 1e p. 105 Standard designs purchase cost is total hull cost reduced by 10%.

Just a quick look the MCr55,508.7075 is not 10% of the total cost of 55,535.7075.

The numbers have not been modified with any of the HG 1e Errata official corrections.

Where did the MCr55,508.7075 come from?

Probably from an old playtest rule.

Thank you for the reply and the information that the MCr55,508.7075 is an artifact that was not cleaned up when I purchased the HG 1e PDF or not caught and corrected by official errata.

That brings up a new question.

What is correct ship's purchase price that is used in the monthly maintenance cost equation?

Is the ship purchase price MCr55,535.7075 or the total hull cost less 10% which I believe is MCr49,982.13675?

Or am I totally out to lunch?
