Afternoon PDT all,

I am not matching the Traveller HG 1e Errata Missile ammunition load out for the HG 1e Capital Ship Design Example. The following is the information I am working with.

From HG 1e p. 72:
There are 20 salvoes for each of the missile turrets for a total of (20 x 3 x 100) 6,000 missiles using 500 tons.

From Traveller Errata HG 1e:
In Step 8, add the following costs: 2,880 Torpedoes = MCr14.4, 6,000 Missiles = MCr90, and 12,000 Sandcaster Barrels = MCr6.

From CRB 1e p. 111
Missile Racks are launchers for small anti-ship missiles. The damage of a missile depends on the type of missile. Missile racks need ammunition - twelve missiles take up one ton of space.

From the Missile table on CRB 1e p. 111
There are three types of missiles with three different costs per 12 missiles

12 Basic missiles Cr15,000 = 15,000/1,000,000 = MCr0.015
12 Smart missiles Cr30,000 = 30,000/1,000,000 = MCr0.03
12 Nuclear missiles Cr45,000 = 45,000/1,000,000 = MCr0.045

My calculations for HG 1e Capital Ship Design Example Step 8 Missile Ammunition Load out is:
Tonnage 12 missiles = 1 ton:
6,000 missiles / 12 = 500 tons

Cost:
12 Basic missiles cost MCr0.015: (6,000 / 12) x 0.015 = 500 x 0.015 = MCr7.5
12 Smart missiles cost MCr0.03: (6,000 / 12) x 0.03 = 500 x 0.03 = MCr15
12 Nuclear missiles cost MCr0.045: (6,000 / 12) x 0.045 = 500 x 0.015 = MCr22.5

If I am on the right track the Traveller HG 1e Errata missile load out cost of MCr90 did not take into account that 12 missiles cost MCr0.015.

How I correctly determined that the Capital Ship Design Example missile turrets are using basic missiles and is the cost MCr7.5?

You are correct, the errata is wrong. They used 6000 missiles à kCr 15, not 500 ton of missiles à kCr 15.

Yippee, another set of calculations showing I'm on the right track for a change. To bad I'm working on a dead design rule system, but at least may help someone putting together a consolidated errata document in the future.

Thank you for checking my math.
