Hey you Narn players

Like I said, no convincing argument has yet been put forward.

Wrong you can hold orbit like all of the telecomuncations satelits what are circlyn arond real earth.

I support greg - I'm an EA player and I've never had a problem with the boresight limitation. it makes the fleet more interesting for sure. plus, you've got more fire arcs for crits that remove fire arcs...and when you can only fire one weapon per arc, well, that means I can fire the foreward pulse and the boresight heavy lasers, too!

Just to blow my own trumpet a little, I won the recent Mongoose Hall tourney with a Narn fleet that included Thentuses and Ka'tocs - both boresight ships.

In my book, boresight adds tactical depth to the game - other games have similar restriction.

Full Thrust for example has no rear arc at all, still it´s a cool game - now try that with ACTA, people will run havoc in the streets (except of course the Centauri who will have to get used to that anyway  )

Not that I am advocating a change to any of the boresight arcs in the game, but as Greg mentioned that the G'Quan's lasers are constructed in such a way as to really only be able to fire forwards. The Omega's forward lasers are obviously some form of turret even if they are never fired as such (although only in the horizontal, relative to the ship itself that is). The set up the mounting is almost identical to the other turrets along the Omega's sides.

I stand corrected. :)

I watched Interludes and Examinations the other day, and it was all directly forwards, although there was one destroyer flying sideways as it fired.

That would be an interesting idea - port and starport boresights!?

yeah but they also both have a forward arc beam too so if you lose the boresight its not a huge deal :D

Exactly, I wouldn't want to hamper myself too much. But they both have their biggest firepower and range in their boresight beams. And it is that which does the killing.
