Help a newbie

Now I have to agree with LOZ here. I know this is trolling, but again, I cannot stress this point anymore.

Cthulhu is an excellent game, and If I may be so bold, is probably one of the best game of all time, no bull, no argument. If you do not agree, than I am sorry, no hard feelings, but you should be shot.

I'd have to agree with your Statement Mage. A properly run CoC game is a realy blast to play or run. I run two-fisted pulp CoC games more in the spirit of Robert E Howard than H.P. Lovecraft.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

RINGWORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure why you are laughing. The Chaosium Ringworld game was very well
done. The cascading skills, though complex, created a skill tree system that
modelled reality quite well. And, Niven himself recommended that any author
wishing to write in Known Space official canon should use the info in the Ringworld
game as a significant resource.

Ringworld is a lovely system. Beautiful looking game, and although its got some clunks (Impulses never quite gelled, but nice idea), the core mechanics were condensed into 30 or so pages that really got into the heart and spirit of the books.

Titter ye not, Mage. Or Vagabond and I will release our pet Kzin on you...

Not saying anything about the rpg, but ring world. Ah forget it. Too obscene to go on about.

Suffice to say after a hot vindaloo you have a steamy ring.

Big mistake. He is a Great Old One, and will drop his fleshly disguise now and devour you...slowly.

A Great Not-so-young -as-I-used-to-be One, thank you very much.

I dunno, kids these days, no respect ......

I am probably older than you, but I would think you would be flattered. After all, what would engender more respect than being a Great Old One? At least as soon as we shed our human husks, that is. Nothing better for putting the young'ns in their place, heh.

Actually, CoC isn't my favorite game. Too damn depressing. At least with Stormbringer the players might find Tanelorn. I love the mechanics better in both cases.

This is a special kzin from my Culture/Ringworld hybrid campaign. He has Knife Missiles.
And is that a Habitat or GSV on which he lives, the "Deepest, Darkest, Herts"... ?

(a culture ship name if I ever heard one)

He lives on a Special Circumstances GCU called 'I Suppose You Think That's Funny' (Gravitas class, natch), but 'Deepest, Darkest Herts' is a good one. Like it.

It would be difficult, I guess, to run a campaign _outside_ of SC involvement or excluding GCU's.

Is it d100/BRP/RQ rules, at all?

I'd prefer being a Lord of Chaos any day.

CoC would be great if you stripped out the Cthulhu Mythos and Insanity, used SAN Rolls for shell-shock/temporary frights and reintroduced hit locations/SRs and so on.

And if every scenario wasn't a Scooby-Doo-style investigation into something strange that ended up with you going insane/dying.
