Hee hee, Raiders...

You'd think the Raiders would have more White Stars in their fleets. The ship's crew have all been picked off one by one, but the ship repairs itself. So a bunch of raiders stumble upon some White Star that's in perfect condition, but without a crew.

"Whoooooooooo!" one of them would scream, pushing random button/crystal things.

"Ooooooh..." another would gasp in awe as the ship creates a jump point.

Then, if it were a White Star II, they'd manage to cram two Delta V flights into the bays. The White Star should be listed in the Raiders fleet list. :D

How do you mean? The flight computer kinda runs out or something after a while. Sheridan said that the White Stars can [only] pilot themselves for a few hours.

Yeah it would run out eventually unmanned. But white stars are fast so it would land some where friendly in no time if you could get in + out of hyperspace.

Anyway it's hardly the best ship, IF i where a raider I would want some narn ships and some EA ships...

Well, yeah. Personally, I think Raiders should be able to field any ship, as long as they had some kind of thing to show that they're raiders. (Like Delta V's instead of Nials, Frazis, etc.)

And I suppose you're right, the flight computer would find someplace friendly. But if you manage to get a White Star without a crew, it just goes adrift. There should be rules that the Flight Computer does something if the crew's dead.

That's assuming the raiders survive any encounter with an ISA partol...

Who said they'd fight them? They'd be flying through space and come across an abandoned White Star from a previous battle.

granted, but doesn't that mean they have to be lurking around the edges of a battle AND get there before the ISA SAR teams recover it?

You're assuming

1) The Raiders would not have been noticed lurking near a battle site recently featuring the White Star fleet (And summarily dealt with later);

2) That the ISA would not have recovered their damaged White Stars after the battle, in itself extremely unlikely;

3) That they would even have the know-how to make such systems work, being based on Minbari and Vorlon tech, and could make such ships space and combat worthy.

Essentially every crew member of a Whitestar seen thus far speaks Minbari (They're all Rangers, speaking Minbari is an essential part of becoming a Ranger).

Further, while they could easily press every button on the ship to figure out what it does, they could just as easily accidentally blow themselves up, open a jump point on themselves, fire off the weapons (Killing themselves, or others), or activate a distress or calling signal (And thus bringing down all sorts of ISA loving on their heads).

No, most likely, they'd sell the ship off as salvage, especially the tech.

That's assuming that no raiders are Minbari. ;)

And if they were?

Not everyone is a skilled ship engineer capable of repairing the fairly experimental, and even for minbari, terribly advanced synergy of vorlon and minbari tech.

But #3 entails a big more than just having a minbari on your crew.
