Heavy Dropship for SST

I've been looking at this thing for a while at my local store (Game Parlor, though if Eagle and Empire got a few of these in...). From my understanding WizKids doesn't make these anymore, and when they did you had to do something special to get the chance to blow $100.

So it's a four bay dropship, with three upper gun turrets and one lower on.

The front of the mighty vessel. You could give the turrets the traits of either Twin .50s or even dual laser turrets.

Yes, that's right, it can fit an M8 Ape with no problem. I think a Bigfoot would have an issue though.

For infantry, you can probably fit Six a pod.

Yeah, it's hard to find, and it's a collectable, so I don't think many would be willing to alter it... But man, what an awsome dropship!

Think how awsome that'd look dropping LAMI! The doors clang open, and out pour Lami Models.

If anything, the Viking dropboats would have to be at least that large to fit 30 LAMI figures in...

Really cool. It was a special promo thing in limited numbers. My FLGS has one, still in the plastic wrap. The owner will sell it for $250. So far there have been no takers. Heck, I could buy a whole army for that much.

You could fit more troops in the doors cause there is supposed to be a shelf that folds down inside the doors.

You can find them on ebay still I think, but my friend had one they are very very neat toys. this is by no means a model it is heavy it is big and it is the most bad @ss thing I have ever played with.

We were talking about the same thing over on the AT43 site's forums. I tried to get one a coupla times on ebay but whenever the sales ended at 100 dollars or so the sellers always pulled the auction because they had the reserve set at something like 180 dollars! :evil:

I would rather build one from scratch, just to see if I could do it (yes I'm one of those lol) rather than fork out silly money and THEN have to do work on it kwim?

I can relate. As an added plus, there are a number of pics of this thing floating around, so it would be relatively easy to make one that was similar.

IIRC, it showed up in a recent BattleTech sourcebook too, so you can probably find some good lineart if you wanted to do a scratchbuild.
