Have Rules, No Stats...

Not so. Helicopters are different from ground attack aircraft, which the missile system you keep harping about won't work against. The dazzler system only works against laser systems, and those systems have to be within it's area of operations.... That means weapon systems like those found for the JDRAM bombs will be uneffected.

As poko said, they rules for engaging heliocopters will cover that, but even the other tanks don't have dazzler systems, though realistically they'd have them about that time too.

That TOW knockoff has an 11 second flight time out to 5k. That's forever when engaging a mobile target. The pilot would have to be clueless of your existence and near sitting still to hit him. In a combat zone a helo isn't going to sit still for you to hit it at that range. And you can forget about hitting a true aircraft with it. So I can't see that being classified as anti-air in any capacity.

As a longshot I'd say give it to them a chance if it was a transport chopper actively engaged in loading unloading troops, via ramp or fast rope... but moving? Those would have to be some heavy modifiers.

This might all be true, but wouldnt the inclusion of rules to handle dazzler systems and limited AA capabilities provide some sort of incentive to move the helicopters around a bit (Maybe even of board)?

Absolutely. Who wants a game where the opponent just sets a Super Cobra in the corner of the table, hovering and unleashing death from its elevated/damn near cover negating position.

Trust me, that does _not_ happen. . .

Yeah, I'd be on the side of conservative use on this one, due to the long flight time (I noticed that too). Maybe it's use could be limited to those times when a player on the other side stays more than one turn in hover mode. Attack choppers are taught to attack using pop-up tactics. They don't stay put for more than a few seconds and usually drop down under cover to prevent return fire. So maybe the use of this would be as I said before, to "keep the enemy honest". It's use would be for those times when a chopper gets greedy and stays in hover mode. So as a primary weapon system I'd say 'meh', but it shouldn't be totally ignored. What say you guys? We could call it the "Rolled-Up Newspaper Punishment for Stupidly Excessive Enemy Aerial Loitering" or RUNPSEEAL in honor of Hiromoon.

How about something along the lines of landing a craft on a building and using it as a glorified bunker like in SST?
Im guessing the helicopters have the ability to hover (since traits dont exist)?
EDIT===> Agree with you there Buships!
Are the aircraft handled in the same way as SST does anyone know? Having to make the first action each turn a move would certainly work, but I was under the impression that this portion of the rules had some makor work done on it.

Yup. In a recent game, I flew an SAS section in a Future Lynx to relieve French Foreign Legion troops in an urban mission. They rappeled down from the hovering aircraft onto the roof of the building.

Of course, I had completely failed to negate the MEA's AA ability, and every yahoo in the area with an AK or RPG turned around and blasted the chopper. Result: One destroyed Future Lynx, a dead SAS section, quickly followed by the wreckage crashing into the building, demolishing it and killing all but a handful of Legionnaires.

So yes, it can work. But for Gawd's sake, sweep the area clean first and don't try it in turn two!

Nice!
I gotta admit I've never have much luck against the arachnids using that tactic either, but thats no reason to retire a perfectly good scheme

Americans are doing it with the Avenger system, Germans are doing it with the Gepard upgrade, I even hear that the brits are thinking of putting a gimpy on the roof of tracked rapier systems!!
