Harmonic shields

Ok, again, let me try to explain this in a simple way. I'm going to use the tanker spit as an example.

Tanker spit rolls 1d10+1d6

The TOTAL of the roll is an 8.

That means that the harmonic shield needs to roll an 8-10 to negate the hit.

If the TOTAL of the tanker roll was 11 or better, the harmonic shield would have no chance of negating the hit.

Okay, now I see what you guys are saying. The thing that was throwing me off the post from Matt that said "(ignoring 'bonus' damage dice)", but now I see what he was trying to say. I think I do at least... :p
