Hammer's Slammers....

How many people out there have run a game (even just a single session) using Hammer's Slammers.

I'm getting ready to do some cons and I'm thinking of running the adventure in the book.

Thanks in advance!

Haven't seen a whole lot of mention of Hammer's Slammers on the board - just a thought, you might want to do a forum search and PM folks directly - if they don't frequent the forum often they may still pickup if they get an email notification of the PM...

I bought the supplement and read it, and it sits on my resource library Traveller shelf, but that is as far as I have gone with it.

My impression so far is that Hammer's Slammers seems to be more a col-
lector's item for the fans of the original series, and less a setting that is
actually played a lot.

I think Rust has stated it most correctly, the product seems to be a one shot item and although it is of some resource value it is not a must to have for the system. I would advise folks if they wanted resource material and had bought all the core books, then spend your money on it.

Thanks...

Yes Matt has said Hammer's Slammers was a one-shot product with support appearing in Signs&Portents... but I've played some nice one-off products before

While I don't think they'll be writing any articles for it, I doubt they'd refuse a submission if someone else had an article. At the very least put it up on a website. (shrugs)

(and no I don't have the supplement yet, other games at the moment)

Does it have any bits on running merc campaigns? I could see that being useful, and more equipment, vehicles and adversaries is a good thing.

I've got the book and have run it. If you like mercinary type adventures it's quite good.

The adventure in the book is usable and I've ran it as is.

I tend to like running "Merc" games, but this will have to wait, its hard enough to keep up with my Traveller and Judge Dredd purchases as it is.

If you like tanks and military sf, it's hard to go wrong with Hammers Slammers. I also highly recommend the books.
