Guyver RPG

What do people think about an RPG line based on the anime Guyver? Its a nice show and has quite a bit of potential perhaps.... though might be a bit one sided... watched the entire thing so perhaps I am on a bit of a Guyver fever and not thinking this through on an RPG line issue :P

I'd love to see it. I dont think it would ever happen but it has the potential. I mean there has been the two animes, the manga, the anime movie, and the two live action movies. There is lots of potential with this.

And the game not neceesarily need be one sided.

Well depends on timeperiod of course but there is Chronos Corporation which can equally be divided between the loyalists, renegades and Lost Numbers. Then of course there are resistance or government groups, stuff like Zeus Thunderbolts or government agencies that are seeking ways to combat the Zoanoids. There is of course the Guyvers and maybe other bio-weapons created by the Creators. There is of course the possibility of the Creators themselves being in such a line. So quite a few options really.

And I thought you might like the idea Mage

Ya the avatar does give it away all right.

I dont agree with that bit about the creators showing up. They are never seen in any mediums, only mentioned.

There is promise though. It more or less is past of the idea behind cthluhutech but without the lovecraftian bits from what I hear.

One idea I had was running a game of runequest set in europe around the 1500 or 1600s. The aprty hunt a 'werewolf' which is in fact a zoanoid. Then you draw in chronos, throw in a guyver unit. I have not run it yet though, same can go for a modern game, finding a Chronos lab and meting some scientists who are rogue. You realize that there are no real ways of beating zoanoids during the game with conventional means and volunteer to be optimised, but with no teleptathic link to a zoalord to make you a slave.

Throw in annomalies like aptom as well (he became more than a lost number towards the end of the show) and you got a cool high level game. The White Wolf System would be nice for it.

I defenitly would be interested in this Rpg as I think it would just be awesome.
I been using a suit of armour in my fantasy games I based on the Guyver unit; I am a fan.

There is a lot of potential, but what system?
I would probably say d20 is best suited what with high level fantasy superheroes. With the way guyver focuses less on technology and more on melee fighting it would be very suitable, but d20 wrecks my head. I would like to see it with runequest but I do not think it would work.

Lot of stuff:
Guyver units
Proto Zoalords
Lost numbers
Zoalords
Zoanoids
Hyper Zoanoids
Whatever aptom turned into

Guyver Movie 1
Guyver movie 2
Guyver animated movie
Guyver series from early nineties
Guyver series from a few years back

Indeed Mage, there is quite a bit of material already on it. I think at the end of the second movie, that government agent wanted the Guyvers help as part of an Anti-Chronos government group so quite a few possibilities.

Ex chronos Scientiests rescued by guyvers, making zoanoids and lost numbers from marines to fight chronos, which is everywhere. Thats a damn good campaign plan.

It probably will never happen. However, it would work. Somebody might do a generic suppliment on something, that could work.

Mutants and Masterminds is the perfect rules for guyver.. giving it its own rule set dosent completely mske sence.. since in essance it is a superhero story

I found out there are things called Dhoanoids, not 100 miles away from zoanoids in concept from guyver. Looks like one could easily run guyver using cthluhutech.

I've seen all of the classic aniume, movies and I've read the comics. I think there is enough material for an RPG based on the Guyver. I'd buy it!

As i recall there has been:

The First Live Action Movie
The second live Action Movie
The Manga Series
The Original Anime series
The OVA Anime movie
The 2005/6 Anime series
