Guide to the Gaim

Argh you beat me to it :p I saw it just now as I went through the Signs and Portents (Derina, the Soul Hunter stuff was cool by the way). I can't wait for this book... is it April yet? :(

Mmmm chitinous bug monsters. That's something my campaign doesn't have enough of. I'm looking forward to this one!

Out of all the B5 books I have edited I like this one the best. The Gaim are wonderfully alien in almost every way, not just some larger than life human wannabe with a larger than life... nevermind, you know what I mean.

I consider the Gaim to be pretty special now, rather than the pathetic little things that are in the show.

There are some tweaks that I am working out with Bryan, nothing too major but little bits that need to be sorted out during the editing process. (This happens more often than not when editing books). Of course those tweaks ultimately will make the Gaim a that much more scarier race...

The book has actually inspired me to come up with a couple of scenarios (one of which I thought about about a third of the way into the book and then dovetailed into the larger book pretty much perfectly, which was nice), these I am planning to write as S&P articles. The first should appear in the month the book will be printed, allowing GMs to use the Gaim book from the get go in their campaigns.

This is good to hear! I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it. My players jumped at a vague Gaim plot hook I had in last night's session, so I've got plenty of room to throw more Gaim stuff at them after the book is released. Can't wait to see what you both have wrought together.

That's rough. We have actually resorted to telepresence-ing one player as he moved away for a job. It's not ideal, but with a "free nights" calling plan and a speaker phone, it's working out ok. Not ideal, but not awful. Good luck to you. Seems like finding players for B5 has always been more difficult than it should be.

I look forward to this one. I enjoyed the revelations of the Pak'Ma'Ra, making them not just the scavengers of the universe. I hope to make the Gaim more than they are, perhaps a large role in my campaign as it goes forward.

As far as finding players goes, I play online using the Fantasy Grounds II virtual gaming table software. There is a fairly large community of players and GMs, most of whom are willing to try new games. I've got four regular players, with a new player hopefully starting soon.
