Guess who was selling FFtD in Lucca? :D

This Thursday I was in Lucca for the yearly Comics and Games fair. The gates had just opened and right at the entrance, turning right, I saw Mr. Dever at the boot selling the new FFtD (the Italian version).
Of course I bought it (despite me already having all the books of the old edition) and I got it signed. I didn't get the novels, as I don't like the new Italian edition, the translation isn't good, but I think the gamebook is better and close to the original from what I have read so far.
The nicest part, however, was seeing him in good health and obviously very comfortable with the Italian fans, as he stayed at the boot all day long. He must like Italian food too, as I have seen him in Lucca I think thrice in the past four years, even where there wasn't much to show.
Well, enough for the tale, now here is the proof:

The book (Italian title means "The Lords of Darkness"):

and the signature:

Yes, i love that detail. EL published about 30 different gamebooks series back in the 80s and 90s and they had a different colour and simbol for each one.

Well I'm sorry guys but the whole blue square thing really doesn't grab me. It's too intrusive and clashes too much with the lovely picture. The same goes for the bright blue spine (only it's not so intrusive, it just clashes).

I see what you mean, I mainly like it because it reminds me of gamebook cover design from the 'good old days'.

Now you see I'm more used to less intrusive designs like the Fighting Fantasy dagger, the Fighting Fantasy Dragon (wrapped around the title), the Dark Sword, Golden Dragon & Way of the Tiger logo's weren't in a big square box either. They just seemd to fit into the picture but stood out enough for you to recognise them.
