Grenades and thrown weapons

Grenades list their range as 'thrown'. The section on thrown weapons (page 65) has no info about how far you can throw a grenade. The weapon ranges chart on page 65 does not list grenades (or other thrown weapons like daggers or rocks).

Is there more info hidden away somewhere else in the book? How far can you throw a grenade or weapon and what DMs are there at different ranges?
 
I can't find any ranging info either but I'd say maximum throwing range for any character is equal to twice that character's Strength (in meters). I'm also going with the average of Strength and Dexterity (the final number also stated in meters) if the character wants to throw with any accuracy.

And given a frag grenade's blast damage radius, said character had better be able to throw further than 9 meters or have some hard cover really, really close by.

The blast radius of a grenade (depending on type) ranges from 6m to 9m, putting it into the Short range band but I wouldn't say this is "optimum" range" because a grenade's use varies widely based on the target (landing it near a group of infantry in an open field 20 meters away vs. slipping it into a bunker's gun port from a quarter meter away vs. tossing it underhand to roll it under a vehicle 3 meters away).
 
If you wanted to throw a football, I'd say
Range DM
Personal 0
Close 0
Short -1
Medium -2
nothing beyond medium

Now if you're throwing a grenade and want to hit a single target withing the first blast radius, I'd give the player a +1 DM, regardless of range. But if they're trying to place a grenade so it hits 5 different people, with certain ones in the close radius, then they wouldn't get the +1 DM, since they're trying to go for a particular spot.
 
Actually it is on pg 65 of the main book.

In the boxed chart, its the first line in ranged attacks, just above Pistol.

not possible (personal range)
+0 for close
-1 for Short
-2 for Medium
and OOR for long and farther.

And "thrown range" weapons are...
Daggers and grenades from the main book, Spear (with a +1 DM to hit) from the Mercenary book

If I may be the proverbial monkey wrench, is there any provisions in the rules concerning thrown objects in a zero gravity environment ?

One might expect an increase in range since the velocity of a thrown object would remain constant, no other forces being present such as gravity altering it's speed (or trajectory).

To answer your question, "yes, through extrapolation".

For example, I've ruled throwing anything in a micro-grav environment requires successful use of the Zero-G skill (using the DM mod for Int), followed by either a Dex roll or an Athletics (co-ordination) roll to get the grenade to be at the desired location when it explodes.

As for the effect on range, that's why I have the additional Dex/Athletics roll.

And always the possibility of grenades being specifically designed to operate in zero gravity environments, one low tech feature might be an electromagnetic surface for 'seeking' out objects to 'home' in on.
